Session Title Code Generation from Conceptual User Interface Patterns

Session Description

This tutorial covers the background and state of the art in code generation in the area of user interfaces for business applications. Topics to be covered will include Architectures for UIs, UI Patterns, architectures for UI code generators, and issues such as multi-platform support and guaranteeing conformance with UI and accessibility guidelines and regulations. The session draws on the speaker's extensive experience of research and practical applications of code generation for UIs and will use case studies and examples to illustrate key points.

Session Leaders

Pedro J. Molina has been working on code generation, MDD, MDA, software patterns and user interface patterns for the last ten years. He is currently a Software Architect for Capgemini Spain in the design and construction of a custom Software Factory (PISA) for a Spanish bank.

Pedro has a PhD from the Technical University of Valencia (UPV) for work on “User Interfaces: from requirements to automatic code generation.” After graduating he worked for R&D spin-off CARE-Technologies specialising in creating MDA tools and complete code generators for business applications based on conceptual modelling. Pedro has published more than twenty research papers & two books.
