Developing mobile applications is a challenging task, especially given the ever-growing number of mobile platforms, devices and form factors. Implementing an app for just one platform just isn't an option for many enterprises if they want to reach as many clients as possible. In this session, I will give a brief overview of the main approaches for developing cross-platform mobile applications. Most frameworks and tools for cross-platform mobile development in the wild do not use a model-driven approach so we will have a closer look at why this might be the case. To give attendees a good impression of the implications of each approach, I will explain their technical backgrounds and underpinnings as well as show some live demos.
