Code Generation 2008 Programme Information
Session TitleExtending Visual Team Architect Edition to meet real architectural goals

Session Type Case Study

Duration60 minutes

Session Description This session will cover Visual Studio Team Edition for Software Architects, Software Factories from the P&P group, DSL Tools and the Guidance Automation Toolkit.

By extending the functionality of Team Architect models to generate “lower level” models architects can have a Model-Driven Top-Down-Design approach. This means that architects can have the right view during the design process and developers have a rich skeleton application for further work with the code generation behind the models.

During this session we will cover the challenges we had and the solutions we’ve made and give a demonstration of the real world projects we worked on using this approach.

Speaker Clemens Reijnen has almost 20 years of IT experience. In 1988 he started working as a Civil Engineer for the government where he made programs to attach 3D models to construction calculation programs. Since 1999 he was worked for Sogeti where he has been involved in many different types of projects. His current work is mainly focussed on model-driven development and software architecture. He's a member of the Service Factory Advisor Board [p&p group], Rosario Advisor Board and works closely with the Microsoft Visual Studio Team Architecture Team. Clemens is also leader of the Dutch IASA chapter.
